Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Mark Waller, Ph.D., LMFT, operating as Mastering Thought (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website at masteringthought.com, take our quizzes, book consultations, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise interact with our content (the “Services”).

We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your information responsibly. This policy explains what we do — in plain language — so you can make informed choices about your data.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information from third-party platforms where you interact with our content.

Information you provide directly

  • Email address and name — when you take the Lion & Unicorn Quiz, the Explorer / Analyzer Quiz, the Discovery Call form, or subscribe to our newsletter
  • Quiz responses — your answers to questions used to determine your result
  • Discovery call form details — your name, email, and any context you provide about why you’re reaching out
  • Coaching client information — if you become a client, additional information you share during the coaching engagement, which is separately governed by our clinical confidentiality practices and applicable professional obligations

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages you visit on masteringthought.com, time spent, links clicked, referring URL
  • Device and browser information — IP address, browser type, operating system, device type
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6 below

Information from third-party platforms

When you interact with our content on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn, those platforms may share limited information with us in accordance with their own terms (e.g., aggregate analytics about views, comments you publicly post, public profile information for users who engage with our content).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver your quiz results and explain what they mean
  • Respond to your discovery call request and schedule a conversation

  • Improve our content and Services based on aggregate usage patterns
  • Communicate with you about updates, changes to our Services, or important account information
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
